Very clean and has a very comfortable and spacious common area (with an air hockey table), and a nice garden. Friendly and helpful staff. The dorm beds have curtains for privacy. Close to city center. Really good breakfast, and you can also get homemade ramen for lunch or dinner (really good ramen, and it could be useful if you don't wanna go out to the streets of San Jose after dark). There were lots of nice backpackers at the hostel. I really enjoyed my stay there : )

Ester`s Place in Escazù. provides accommodation with, a garden and a terrace. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Ester’s place was easy to find with Google maps and Uber. It had everything I needed and for a price better than anything else around. Ester responded very quickly to any question I had. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting simple accommodation in this area.

Hostel Casa Ridgway offers accommodation in San José. Free parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a shared bathroom equipped with a shower. As my 1st accommodation in Costa Rica they set the standard so high it went unmatched for the 3 weeks I stayed in the country. Although not modern, it features sizable dorms, comfortable beds, has no lockers but clothes hangers are available and valuables may be stored in a specialised room. Pretty good breakfast, decent shared kitchen with an impressive spice rack, stable wi-fi. All that, however, is just facilities. What truly makes the property stand apart are the staff and especially its manager, with his insights into local culture, support, and warmth. The fact that the building also houses a local NGO makes the place even more dynamic and provides opportunities for some interesting conversations.

Gaudys Hotel is located 8 minutes’ walk from La Sabana Metropolitan Park and 2 km from San José City Centre. Free WiFi access is available in public areas. Great place with a lot of common spaces , clean and eith family vibes. They are super kind and pet friendly, in a great position in a safe and nice neighborood near the park la Sabana and near many good sodas and restaurants. I will choose it again for sure,

I love that the Hostel cater to stray cats, the facility is really nice and comfortable, it’s clean , the paintings, the way the furnitures are set up.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions about San José, they even helped me find a way to get to other areas in Costa Rica. The hostel had a nice relaxed vibe and is always clean. There's an outdoor area that is beautiful and surrounded by nature and its great for socializing with everyone. It's in a nice area that is in walking distance from many things like Sodas, the mall, Barrio Escalante, etc. Overall awesome stay

Nastanitev NATIVUS Art-Hostel se nahaja v mestu San José, 47 km od znamenitosti narodni park Volcan Poas, in ponuja storitve concierge, sobe za alergike, skupni prostor za druženje, brezplačen WiFi v... This hostal is wonderfull, it should be called not a hostal, but a hotel boutique. It has everything clean, comfortable, yoga area (so spacious ). The environment is fantastic. Really you feel like you were in your home.

In the Wind Hostel and Guesthouse is set in the heart of lively, upscale San Pedro and only 400 meters from the University of Costa Rica and the student nightlife of Calle de la Amargura. Staff were really nice, pancake for breakfast was Huge and delicious. Rooms big enough, and the common area was cute and comfy.
